I would think that a Rising Storm rankup map would be in the rotation, but I never saw a glimpse of such a map.May 2014: To celebrate the award of PC Gamer's "Multiplayer Game of the Year 2013", we have update Rising Storm to the Game of the Year edition. All the other map sectors featured a mix of vanilla RS maps and some custom ones. Strangely enough, the Axis/Allies symbols on the team selection screen were still the rising sun and the US star, but I expect that has to do with the campaign running. However, despite being on a Rising Storm campaign, these maps actually were RO2 maps, and as such, used your RO2 statistics and obviously it was USSR vs. It's also worth mentioning that the server I was on actually was hosting a Rising Storm campaign, but at least one or two of the map sectors featured these "rank up" maps alongside the normal vanilla maps. I was unable to find such a map or server, but the folks on the server I mentioned did indicate about a rankup map for Rising Storm, so it exists, but I'm unsure if it's in the server's rotation. Thank you, /u/barcodebaby!Īdditionally, /u/paradoxpolitics inquired about a rank up server for Rising Storm. Thankfully, /u/barc0debaby has provided an IP address for either the server in question or a similar one down below in the comments. I'm not sure if I just can't see it myself or not. I had added the server to my favorites, and it's no longer there or in the "recently played" list, nor is it being filtered out. Although I promised this info last night, the server appears to have gone dark, as it's no longer visible in my server browser. I thought it might be something the community might be interested in.ĮDIT: Some people asked for the IP to the server. Obviously, the way gun unlocks and upgrades work peeved a lot of RO1 players who moved over, but that's a different story.Īgain, I'd just like some thoughts on this. without having to grind through the unlocks while going against much more experienced players with upgraded weapons). they can use bayonets on their rifles and drum mags on their PPShs, etc. At the same time, given that there are still a relatively small amount of new players (Honor less than 30 or 40), this could be a good chance to give them parity with the seasoned vets on a firepower stance (ie. I mean, this could easily be used to get yourself any gun you like within minutes, and make it look like you were a seasoned RO2 vet, when in reality, you are effectively a noob. This was a ranked server, so of course everything was saved, and to any ordinary RO2 player, it would seem like I had played enough and done well enough to reach such a high honor rank, and the ability to use Hero class with any of my classes.īasically, I just want to know the community's opinion on this. All other actual players were to be left alone so they could go on a killing fest and rank up. The server rules went that you could only kill bots in the pits. Basically, after killing a few, my honor rank shot from the mid 70s to about 90. The pits were on top of more objectives than I can count, that just overlapped, so whenever you killed a bot, you would get a huge bonus from killing it on multiple objectives. It loaded up a map that I can only recall the phrase "CQB" being a part of the name, and basically it was a small map with two pits about 10 meters apart that just had a ton of bots in them. I found one, and not really paying attention to the name, connected. So, the night before last I was digging around through the servers to find one with a decent player count.
